Story...
Spirit Storycatching Network began with a simple understanding: that many of the challenges facing our communities today — including grief, addiction, family conflict, and disconnection — are not individual problems, but shared experiences shaped by history, loss, and disrupted relationships to land, culture, and one another.
Over time, our team realized that meaningful wellness support could not be delivered through short-term programs or one-time workshops alone. Communities were asking for something different — a way of working that honoured existing cultural knowledge, supported local leadership, and created space for youth, families, helpers, and staff to come together in relationship over time.
In response, Spirit Storycatching Network was formed as a mobile cultural wellness and teaching team. Rather than offering pre-designed programs, our approach is grounded in invited partnership. We work alongside First Nations, schools, and organizations to support culturally-guided wellness through land-based teaching, relational mentorship, and community-shaped pathways that reflect local priorities and context.
This work often takes place across both school and land-based settings, supporting continuity between classroom environments and seasonal cultural gatherings. In many cases, our role is not to lead, but to walk alongside existing cultural helpers, support staff, and leadership — contributing to shared efforts that strengthen youth leadership, helper pathways, and intergenerational learning within the community.
Spirit Storycatching Network continues to grow through relationship. Each partnership informs the next, and each invitation is approached with the understanding that culture, story, and wellness are carried within community — not delivered from outside it.
