Depending on community priorities and readiness, Spirit Storycatching Network may be invited to support school and community wellness through a combination of ongoing school-linked cultural grounding and seasonal land-based gatherings.

School-Linked Cultural Grounding
In partnership with school staff and existing local cultural helpers, our team may support:

relational circles with youth
classroom-adjacent cultural supports
grief and belonging supports
mentorship alongside local helpers and support staff
opportunities for youth to move from participant to peer mentor over time

This presence is typically gentle and ongoing, allowing relationships and trust to guide the pace of engagement.

Seasonal Land-Based Camps
Where appropriate, communities may also invite Spirit Storycatching Network to support:

youth learning through doing on the land
intergenerational knowledge sharing
helper support presence
culturally-guided wellness gatherings
opportunities to walk alongside local cultural helpers as working partners in future camp delivery

These gatherings can support continuity between school-based supports and seasonal land-based learning environments.

All partnership pathways are shaped by community priorities, values, and local context, and are carried out in collaboration with existing leadership and cultural supports.

Programs are delivered alongside community members and local helpers through land-based learning, circle dialogue, mentorship, and cultural teachings that support youth, families, and community wellbeing.

Helper & Peer Mentor Training

Spirit Storycatching Network supports the development of local helper and peer mentor pathways through culturally grounded mentorship and collaborative learning opportunities within school, land-based, and community settings. Youth and community members may move from participant roles into helper or peer mentor responsibilities over time, supported through mentorship, shadowing, and reflective practice alongside Elders, local cultural helpers, and Indigenous Mental Health Therapists. This approach strengthens local capacity by creating opportunities for emerging leaders to contribute to wellness initiatives within their own schools and communities.

Land-Based Program Component

The Land-Based Program Component offers opportunities for youth, helpers, and community members to participate in culturally grounded activities that support learning, mentorship, and connection to land. Through seasonal gatherings and land-based teachings, participants may engage in activities such as medicine walks, food preparation, hide work, fishing, or relational circles guided by Elders and local cultural helpers. These experiences support leadership development, cultural identity, and shared responsibility while creating continuity between school-based supports and community wellness initiatives over time.

Trauma, Grief, and Addiction Support

The Youth Leadership & Resilience Program supports young people in developing confidence, cultural identity, and leadership skills through participation in relational circles, mentorship opportunities, and land-based activities. Guided by Elders, local cultural helpers, and Indigenous Mental Health Therapists, youth are invited to engage in experiences that strengthen emotional wellbeing, peer support, and shared responsibility within their schools and communities.
